Can't Sleep

69 things you may have never known about me. (well, that's probably a lie)

1. Initials:
RWF

2. Name someone with the same birthday as you:
Carly Freakin’ Williams

3. Favorite fruit?
Roblez.  Sorry that was a low blow.  I guess Blueberries.

4. For or against same sex marriage?
Well, fundamentally I’m against it, but it doesn’t really affect me, so I’m never gonna vote against it.

5. Are you allergic to anything?
Formaldehyde

6. Are you bisexual?
nope

7. Have you ever slept in someone elses clothes?
I’ve borrowed a T-shirt here and there.  And one time I had to borrow a jacket to sleep in.  Long story.  Longer night.

8. How many U.S states have you been to?
12 or 13.  I don’t know.  I get confused.

9. How many of the U.S states have you lived in?
One.

10. Have you ever lived outside the U.S?
Nope.  Don’t think I’ll ever take up residency outside the US either.

11. Name something physical you like about yourself?
I have really great knuckles.  And my leg hair is pretty sweet, too.

12. Something non-physical you like about yourself?
I know more about theology than 99% of people I encounter on a daily basis.  I’m no expert, but I have encountered very few questions that I don’t know/haven’t ever thought about.

13. Do you have any pets?
3 dogs.  Buster the Shih-Tzu, Whitley the Lab, and Mocha the Australian Shepherd.

14. What is your dream car?
Aston Martin Vanquish V12

15. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
back to Hawai’i.

17. Are you bipolar?
Nope.  But if I haven’t had any dip in a few days you might think I am.

18. What dream car do you want your husband/wife to drive?
Whatever she wants.  That’s actually a pretty funny question considering the cars my wife and her family have.

20. Where would you want to go on a first date?
I’m done dating, thanks.

21. Would you date the person who posted this before you?
I’m taken.

22. Has anyone ever sang or played for you personally?
Yep.  All the time.

23. Ever been kissed under fireworks?
No.  I’m always watching stuff blow up.  I save the nookie for later.  I’m not really a big fan of PDA anyway.

24. Do you like president Bush?
First off, it’s President Bush with a capital P.  And yes.  I think despite his occasional blunders he’s been a damn great president.  He’s no Reagan, but look at all the other presidents of the past 100 years.  I think he’s got a pretty great track record if you put it in context.  Quite frankly I’m annoyed by the “Hate Bush” mania the Drive by Media has instigated.  It’s so cool to hate Bush these days, and if you ask people why, their reasons are so superficial/uninformed.

25. Have you ever bungee jumped?
Nope.  I know too much about ropes to do that.

26. Have you ever white water rafted?
No.  I’d love to, except I hate swimming, and I’m pretty sure I’d end up in the rapids at least once.  So I’m probably not gonna do that any time soon.

27? 28? 29?

30. Are you racist?
I am fundamentally and morally opposed to racism.  I think it’s ridiculous and completely uneducated.

31. What song are you listening to right now?
Something Like That – Tim McGraw

32. What's your favorite song at the moment?
International Love Song – Caedmon’s Call

33. What was the last movie you watched?
Closer

35. Where was the last place you went besides your house?
The Architecture Building

36. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property?
Hahahahahahahahaha.  I’ll never tell!

37. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex?
Never on purpose.  There were a few instances sparring at Pittman’s and I hear that I throw vicious elbows in my sleep.

39. What's the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
My wife’s face

40. What's ur favorite body part on the opposite sex?
Plead the 5th.

41. What do you usually order from Starbucks?
A one-way ticket to the front door.  I don’t go to starbucks.  If I go to a coffee shop I usually order an English Breakfast Tea, just in case you’re wondering.

44. Say something totally random about yourself?
I have seriously almost died on numerous occasions.

a. Bone Tumor

b. Appendix

c. Climbing Fall

d. Cutaneous Strep Infection (Flesh Eating Bacteria) <– Closest to death
e. Scorpion Sting

f. Seizure right by bathtub with water running

g. Salmonella Enteritis

h. Car on 2 wheels, sunroof open, no seatbelt.

45. Do you have an iPod?
Yep.  It’s a Nano.

46. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
*Sigh*  When I was younger I had really deep-set eyes, so everyone told me I looked like Steve Buscemi

49. Do you have freckles?
Too many.  Mostly on my shoulders from years and years of sun burns.

49. Are you comfortable with your height?
Yep.

50. Do you like someone right now?and who?
Yes.  My wife.

51. How tall are you?
6’0”

52. Do you speak any other language other than english?
Enough Spanish to get by.  I can understand Spanish and German well enough to get by in Mexico or to sell windows and doors to Minonites.

55. Have you ever ridden in a limo?
Yes.

56. Has anyone you were really close to passed away?
Yep.  Corey.  We’ll miss you, dude.

57. Do you watch MTV?
I’d rather give myself a lobotomy with a fork.

58. What's something that really annoys you?
Anything out of David Dodd’s mouth.  My Programming Class.  People who don’t get that when they IM you and you say “I’m studying for a test” that means leave me alone.  Elderly Drivers.  People who almost come to a complete stop when turning.  Van Halen.

59. What are some things you really like to do?
Rock Climbing, Camping, Going to Church, Reading, Listening to Music, Taking road trips with close friends to the middle of nowhere, talking to people who know about theology, talking to Brian Rex about anything, sleeping, spending the whole day with my wife, killing myself slowly with Copenhagen, drinking, smoking cigars, anything at Ceta, listening to people tell me about their lives, watching people straighten out their lives, painting, riding my mountain bike, buying new clothes (a rarity in my life), going to big music festivals like ACL…

60. Do you like Michael Jackson?
No.

62. Have you ever surfed?
I’ve tried to use a boogey board like a short board.  I got it a few times, but not enough to really call it surfing.

63. Do you know how to pump gas?
Wow.  Who was this written for?  12 year olds or the State School?

64. Do you drive?
Nope.  I get in my car, put the pedal to the metal and hope for the best.

65. What's the latest you have ever stayed out?
Well, I’ve gone 73 hours without sleep before.  48+ isn’t that uncommon in my life, and 24+ is literally an every-other-day kind of thing.

66. Have you ever thought that you were honestly going to die?
Several times.  Usually because a doctor told me it was “a good possibility” or because I involuntarily dropped the F-bomb in front of a class of 5th graders on a field trip as I took a fall while climbing without enough quick-draws.

67. Were you ever rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room?
Well, yeah, but I wasn’t the patient.  I was certified as a Basic EMT.  Lots of hours in the ambulance.

68. Have you ever been dared to do something you didn't want to do?
Yeah.  And I’ve done it more times than I care to think about.

69. What's your favorite city to live in?
I think I could live in Austin, Dallas, Denver, Atlanta, Portland, or anywhere in Hawaii.  I’ve only lived in Lubbock, though, so I don’t really know.

Red Shorts

So, this entry is Dedicated to Everything Chase Jones.
Specimine #1- The Red Shorts.  In the world of Chase Jones, these shorts are the only required attire when not at work or at a bar.  These shorts are magneticly charged to

Old Crappy Couches.  When the Red Shorts come in contact with the Old Crappy Couches, one of three things happens:

#1.  Walker Texas Ranger.

#2, JAG

But Typically it's Microwave Pizza and Shiner Bock.

Sometimes he's lucky enough to get all three in one sitting.

Other Cool Things about Chase:

This Law does not apply to Chase.

Chase has a very extensive collection of Playboys which he keeps in his closet.

Woship Music is his drinking music of choice.

He has more unused climbing, mountaineering, and camping gear than an REI.

Above all, Chase Jones is a pimp.  Here he is putting the Mack on Two girls AT THE SAME TIME!

Congrats Chase for your Ph.D. in Pimpology!

Greatest Hits: My Prerogative
By Britney Spears
see related
So now that I'm married, I'm learning some very valuable stuff.  For one, the marketing industry is one of the single scarriest things on the face of the earth.  Don't believe me?  Try turning the MUTE off next time you watch one of Britany Spears's videos boys.  I know this doesn't make sense to many of you, but one day you'll marry a girl and guess what comes along with that?  That's right.  Every Britany Spears CD EVER.  I don't know how they do it, but somehow they actually marketed her MUSIC to girls everywhere.  And they bought it.

I know.  I know.  It doesn't make sense.  But you know what makes even less sense?  The lyrics to "My Perogative".  First off, I"ve gotta call her on this.  There's no way that swamp trash cajun could have possibly known that word before she read the lyrics to her new song.  I'd be willing to put money down that she still doesn't exactly know what it means.

Logic elludes something like 72.36% of women.  I suppose that all they had to do was get some money hungry schmuck in New York to write songs that are totally devoid of any logic or understanding.  She loves them because they don't "have to make sense" 'cause they're "just what she FEELS".  Girls everywhere just think "She's so PREEEEEEETTTTYYYYYYY."   Without logic they assume that by listening to her sing songs that other people write for her they too can become sex-symbols.

I've also figured out one of the world's greatest mysteries.  "Why are women always late?"  Women are always late because of a combination of 2 things:
1.  They have no concept of time.  They don't get it.  It's beyond them.  They must have all been home sick with the chicken pox the day we went over that in preschool.
2.  They put on a Britany Spears CD 12 minutes and 38 seconds before they're supposed to be somewhere, and they just can't leave until it's finished.

There's my angry rant for the day.

Black Crowes - Greatest Hits 1990-1999: Tribute Work in Progress
By The Black Crowes

Thank God!  Finals are over!  I'm through.  It hasn't sunk in yet.  I can't wait till it does.  I bet I'll be able to feel my stomach relax.  Either way it's over.  Now on to the things I want to get done over the break.  I'm gonna read some books, work a lot, and be lazy for a little while.  With that said, I'm gonna go fall asleep listening to the Black Crowes.
